The 'Paddle Plant' is a personal favorite here at Succy Crafts. A round vertical grower that will reach up to 12" tall. This succulent plant is a powdery grey color that will turn a bright red and yellow in full sun. A perfect variety to add height to your drought-tolerant landscape, or to have as a focal point in your garden. This type of succulent plant is known as monocarpic. Meaning it will bloom, set seed and then die. Good news is that this plant will easily offset baby plants at the base of their trunks before blooming.
Native to: South Africa
Hardiness: tender soft succulent - will not tolerate frost
Recommended light conditions: full sun
Bloomtime : Spring
Flower : Yellow
Watering Needs Indoors: Instead of giving your succulents gradual sips of water throughout the week, give them a good soaking, to the point where water runs out the drainage holes at the bottom of the pot. Be sure to empty the water that runs into the saucer, succulents do not like to sit in water. Then let the soil dry out completely before watering again.
Watering Needs Outdoors: In the Summer water your succulents every two weeks, by soaking them and letting them dry before watering again. In the Winter water your succulents once a month.
Technical Information About This Plant
- Requires bright light for most of the day. Or constant dappled shade.
- Best to water every 2 weeks. Avoiding letting water sit in the rosette.
My paddle plant is struggling a bit. There were dark spots on some leaves which I have pruned away. It looks better. Will wait to see how well it does. I do like the colors of my he leaves.
Fast shipping, verry well packed; my paddle plant needed a few days to recover from its long trip but now it thrives and doing good. Will buy again from Succycrafts.
what a pretty girl! I named her Khloe
Came well packaged, a little withered, but overall healthy. Potted and watered and outside enjoying the sun!
Was surprised my order comes in individual boxes. I’m on the fence with that method. If it protects the plant during shipment I’m good with it. My paddle plant was in a box and now where the leaves were folded for the box, are dying off. I still prefer the other packing method.
I am a succy junkie and I love the two Kalanchoe Paddle Plans I ordered. They arrived earlier than expected and packed beautifully. Not one leaf was injured in transit. I am a loyal return customer. Thank you
