"String of Dolphins" is a hybrid trailing succulent plant from Senecio "String of Pearls" and Curio Articulatus "Candle Plant". It is very popular and sought after because the foliage it grows really do look like jumping dolphins! This rare succulent will perform best in bright indirect light. The flexible stems will grow very long showing off their unique leaves. A succulent plant that will look gorgeous in hanging baskets and tall planters. Suitable to grow indoors by a window or in a very bright room.

Native to: Europe

Zone: 10

Hardiness: tender soft succulent - will not tolerate frost

Recommended light conditions: bright indirect light

Bloomtime: Fall / Winter

Bloom Color: white

Watering Needs Indoors: Instead of giving your succulents gradual sips of water throughout the week, give them a good soaking, to the point where water runs out the drainage holes at the bottom of the pot. Be sure to empty the water that runs into the saucer, succulents do not like to sit in water. Then let the soil dry out completely before watering again.

Watering Needs Outdoors: In the Summer water your succulents every two weeks, by soaking them and letting them dry before watering again. In the Winter water your succulents once a month.

Technical Information About This Plant

  • Requires bright light for most of the day. Or constant dappled shade.
  • Best to water every 2 weeks.

Knowing what your planting zone is can be vitally important to your plants thriving. Keep in mind that the zones pertain to OUTDOOR planting. If you plan to keep your plants indoors for fall-winter the zones may be irrelevant.

Cute Little Dolphins

Super happy with this purchase, I ordered it for my step mom who lives in another state and when it was delivered it was in perfect condition. Would definitely order from here again!

I was so looing forward to getting one of these guys and he did not disappoint! I recieved a healthy plant with much new growth and baby dolphins on its limbs, as well as huge dolphins towards the base. Could NOT be any happier! :)

Love Dolphins...

This was a must for me. Took longer to get her than expected.. not Succy's fault. When it arrived it was a bit beat up and the dirt was mostly out of the pot and in box. Hope it bounces back. Writing this on day 2 of receiving. 🥰

Love those dolphins

My plants arrived in record time and great shape. Very healthy looking
